Low-Value Goods Exemption Ended
de minimis (duty-free under USD 800) for China/Hong Kong ended 2025/05/02, then 2025/08/29 expanded globally. All U.S.-bound parcels, regardless of value, are now subject to duties.

On May 7, 2026, the U.S. Court of International Trade ruled that §122 temporary surtax was unlawful; on June 11, 2026, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the government may continue enforcement during the appeal process. The vast majority of imports are currently still being collected by CBP. §122 will expire on July 24, 2026 (unless extended by Congress), at which time significant policy adjustments may occur.
