Our glossary simplifies common industry terms in freight and logistics into clear, easy-to-understand explanations.
Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) is the Incoterms clause with the heaviest seller responsibility. The seller is responsible for delivering the goods to the designated location in the buyer's country and completing import customs clearance, paying duties and taxes; the buyer simply takes delivery. DDP offers a one-stop experience for buyers, but sellers must be familiar with the destination country's regulations, tax systems, and compliance requirements. Inaccurate tax assessments or document omissions can lead to cost overhangs and delays, requiring special assessment.
