Carbon offsetting (or Insetting) is a strategy in which companies invest in carbon reduction measures within their own value chains to offset carbon emissions from logistics and supply chains. Unlike carbon offsets, which involve purchasing external certificates, carbon embedding emphasizes directly reducing emissions in transportation, warehousing, or manufacturing. For example, using electric delivery vehicles, renewable energy warehouses, or reusable packaging are all examples of carbon embedding. This not only complies with regulations and ESG requirements, but also enhances brand image.
