Delivered At Place (DAP) is an Incoterms clause. The seller is responsible for shipping the goods, which have completed export formalities, to an agreed location in the buyer's country and bears the risks and costs of transportation to that location. The buyer is responsible for import customs clearance and payment of taxes. DAP is suitable for situations where the buyer has the ability to import but would like the seller to handle the time and risks of international transportation. Both parties must clearly agree on the place of delivery, the point of risk transfer, and the person responsible for unloading the goods to avoid unclear lines of responsibility.
