The EORI number (Economic Operators Registration and Identification) is an identification code issued by the European Union to economic operators engaged in import and export activities. Holding an EORI is a prerequisite for completing declarations and customs clearance within the EU customs system. The absence of an EORI may result in goods being unable to be imported or exported. Businesses planning to operate in the EU market should apply for one as soon as possible and cite it correctly in their commercial documents and customs declarations.
